Issue 11 of ictopus@home is now available
This week we meet Dawn again (see i@h4). Dawn is now 3 years old and this time her dad tells us all about her mathematical development so far and makes Dawn’s Maths Machine available as our 3-5 activity. We continue the theme with two number based activities for older children.

One of our readers has written in to point out that perhaps the item on Dawn's Maths Machine should come with a health warning. Dawn is a particularly able mathematician with a fascination for numbers but even she is not using this program in isolation. She plays lots of mathematical games with her parents which develop her social skills and thinking skills through practical play. We fully accept that at this age e-learning should be fun, concrete and practical and not mainly based on 'doing sums'.
